Flan

Interdisciplinary artist and game designer in NYC who’s interested in all kinds of game experiences, and has worked on LARPs/experimental theater, ARGs played over social media, as well as digital games. Deeply inspired by watching After Dark screen savers, they are particularly interested in systems with large possibility spaces that place emphasis on observing interesting results. Procedural generation, neural networks, and other methods of computer authorship are of great interest to them, and go hand in hand with using the concept of glitch to explore “glitches” of our perception. Big influences include ambient art, David O’Reilly, Adventure Time, Little Computer People, and Keita Takahashi, and of course, their peers

Flan also works for the non-profit game art gallery Babycastles.
